DR CHRISTOPHER VOISEY WILL PRESENT A PAPER AT THE GLOBAL SMS 36TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Dr. Christopher Voisey has had his paper “Integrating Facebook and Team-based Learning to Support Millennial Learners’ Engagement in Teaching Strategy” accepted at the  Strategic Management Society 36th Annual Conference to be held in Berlin on September 17-20, 2016. The SMS acts as a catalyst for building and disseminating new ideas in research, practice and teaching around a set of core issues in strategic management. Born between 1982 and 2003, Millennial students display ambition, confidence, optimism, and a capacity for high-level cooperative work. Strategy teachers are under pressure to teach to ever larger classes, often solved through team teaching or repeat teaching. From a case study based on his work at Henley Business School, Dr. Voisey describes a novel approach to pedagogy in strategy that integrates Team-Based Learning with social media. Results from evaluations of a business strategy course taught to Undergraduates suggest that this can lead to significantly higher learning outcomes, inclusiveness, and student satisfaction.
